a continuous line drawing where the student draws the interior and exterior contours of the subject. In the process, students keep their eyes on the contours of their subject more than they do on their drawing, and the results are drawings that are often randomly abstracted or distorted.

When I was taking drawing for the first time we did this contour drawing and it was a great tool to teach you focusing and training your hand and eyes plus brain. You get a nice workout. I miss taking art it was so enjoyable I hope to get back into it...wishing you the best in your career.

Economical! It could be contour drawing, which is great for training the eye. Follow the edges; don't name anything in your mind while you do it. Good luck
