No, it will not, it is a medical procedure and even your doctor will confirm this. Virginity is kind of a touchy subject that is defined in many different forms. It have different dependencies varying because of your religion, or lack there of, if you consider the physical more defining than the mental/religious aspect and so on.

Virginity (as far as women are concerned) is conventionally defined as the state of not having had sexual intercourse (e.g. penis fully penetrating the vagina). Sometimes the definition of virginity gets so extreme that there are even many women who continue to claim they are "virgins" despite having had anal sex and the like, simply because they have not had a penis enter their vaginas.

So on that note, no, a pap smear will not take your virginity. At most, it might rip your hymen a little, which might cause some minimal bleeding, however most women accidentally tear that hymens without even knowing it... through vigorous exercise, or falls, or any activity that targets that area.

Anyway, if you want to avoid the possibility of your hymen being torn during a pap smear, just ask the healthcare provider to use a smaller speculum. A good provider will honor your request and even answer questions you may have about the procedure.

But most of all, just RELAX during the procedure. Take comfort in the fact that your doctor knows what he/she is doing, and rest easy that your virginity is not being taken.

The pap smear did not take my vriginity. However, the speculum that the dr used when I had my first pap smear at age 18 did break my hymen and that's b/c he used a regular sized speculum instead of one that is designed for virgins when I later found out about those kind of speculums.

Only sex will take your virginity. You may do things that will break your hymen, but until you actually have sexual intercourse you are still a virgin. For that matter, you could even masturbate using toys and you would still be a virgin - at least according to the common definition.

No. You will still be a virgin, but it will probably break your hymen. You are still a virgin until a man puts his penis inside you.
