Because I just bought some from ebay. I am more into the whole "fake rings" because I scar easily and I do not want a hole in my face (something that I am SURE that I'll regret in the future). So, I decided to go for a fake one. But can you tell the difference?

yes, you can definitely tell the difference...
i myself,have quite a few piercings and before i got them, i had fakes ones to see how they look like.. they totally bother you too.when i put them on, it made like a little hole in my skin and it made it red and itchy..its basically the same thing as scarring..if you have a fake lip ring then it pops an hurts when you talk, if you have a nose piercing it hurts when you flex it and easily popped off as well..
just get the real piercings..it is tottaly better that way.

it will depend on the quality of the fake ring. but in most cases it will be pretty obvious. your best chances are with a magnetic stud for your nose. cant help you with the lip however.

try Spencer's or Claire's in yor local mall and no not really they have gotten really at making the fakes look real
