Imagine you have two options. One option would perhaps hurt somebody in the process, but the other would hurt yourself.
How do you decide and what inner process do you go through?

Thank you for all your answers. They really made me think. But tell me how to decide for the best answer if I find all of them valuable???

Being impulsive had got me into trouble most of the time.
Having Just 2 options is rough for decisions resulting in pain, for yourself, or another. Either way is not going to be good. So, I would choose the option that is a good moral choice. The one that you are going to kick yourself for the rest of your life.
Concluding, keep yourself guilt-free, and choose what your conscience feels is best.

Most decisions aren't that simple. That's why computers aren't making ALL our decisions for us yet.
In the case of your example, you didn't provide enough information..
1) How bad of an injury would each person involved sustain? Are we talking minor injuries, loss of limb, or paralysis?
2) If I choose option A or B, are there any other consequences other than these injuries?
3) What are the benefits of choices A and B? Do the benefits outweigh the consequences in either scenario?
I imagine that would pretty much sum up my thought process...

This type of situation has occurred many times in my life and I had hurt myself all the time because I always follow my heart. If it is possible for me then I would never hurt anybody else no matter what.

If there is not a third option (usually not doing anything) then I would consider who would hurt more (reputation, physical, emotional, ect). I would then consider who would benefit more. Then think it over for a while and throw it all away and let your gut feelings decide.

I would hurt myself, for I am the only one who knows how to fix myself, because I am the one doing the hurting and I understand it more fully than the other as I am inflicted the hurt upon myself.

Although you have described the situation, I'm still not sure what to say because I don't know enough. From what I do know, I'd have to say hurt the other person because you can't make everyone happy all the time.

i'd rather hurt myself in the process than to hurt someone else. though i weigh the pros and cons apart from adopting a rational thinking patter to make decisions, my heart always wins over the mind.
it's better to bear than to inflict.

As Wayne Dyer said you can never hurt anyone if they choose not to be hurt. I try & make my decisons on what I 'feel' is right. But the answer is not simple as I have not observed myself keenly but I do know I hate hurting other ppl.

heavily? you like a toy? nicely i think women have their desires besides. Kudos on being open approximately it. You earned my admire. anyhow, bypass with the youngster and run to the keep and get your self a pair of batteries to apply day after today. I doubt that it incredibly is that undesirable which you're able to require the use of your toy this nighttime.

Weigh pro's and cons.
Go with your head rather than your heart.
Do what is right to the best of your ability.
Good luck!
