It would have been much better if you had checked first whether rang de basanti is nominated or not. Its not in the nominations and is out of the oscar race.

I think itz already out of the race....
i dont think so... lagaan was an excellent movie! it had the rhythm, the patriotic feeling, storyline, thrill, screenplay, music everything in place.. rang de basanti wasnt that inspiring according to me. even if the film and the music were the big hit and set the box office registers ringing, it doesnt match with lagaan.

sorry but rdb is out of the oscar race.the judges already chose the top 5 which they will consider for the oscar.however deepa mehta[director of monsoon wedding] is still in the race and it has won an oscar soo cheer for her film water which is nominated as a canadian film though.
