I am trying to do ad in photoshop and the printing company told me to make my ad in photoshop the sizes above I have to make two ads 4 3/4 x 3/3/4 1/2 page ad and then
2 1/4x 3 3/4 inches 1/4 page ad if anyone can help me with the inches for this that would be awesome the lady who owns the magazine doesn't know the actual inches for it just the inches.

Or if you knw what I type in for inches in the inches area for thes inches is it 4 3/4 inches= 4.34 or more complicated? Thanks in advanced for the help.

I know I should probably know this stuff but the numbers got thrown on me at the last minute and I dont calculate numbers well under pressure. Hope you have a good one!

4.75 x 3.75
2.25 x 3.75

Enter 3 divided by 4 in a calculator to see the decimal equivalent (.75).

At 300dpi, these would be 1425 x 1125 pixels for 1/2 page ad or 675 x 1125 pixels for 1/4 page ad.

3/4 of an inch is the same as 0.75 inches, so

4 3/4 = 4.75 in
3 3/4 = 3.75 in

1/4 inch = .25 inches, so

2 1/4 inch = 2.25 in

...in the photoshop image size dialog. Make sure you set your resolution first BEFORE you type in the dimensions you want. If this is for a copy-ready ad, you should probably set the resolution to 300 dpi.

basic math...to convert fractions into decimals divide the top number by the bottom number
in other words divide 3 by 4.
