They both have control over their habits. Don't even say its a lot harder for a fat person to become skinny than a drug addict to become sober, breaking a hardcore heroin addiction is known as one of the hardest things a human can do.

Being obese is defiantly worse than most drugs out there.

The only thing obese people have on drug addicts is what there doing isn’t illegal.

BTW not all drug addicts are liars stealers murders ECT... a drug addict is just that... someone who is addicted to drugs. If this question was about stealing, murdering or lying I would of said so.

This isn’t meant to offend any Obese people out there just raise a question as to why America is so bias against drug use and they don’t even know it. I am simply saying we shouldent look down on anyone.

I can predict the future as well… watch how many negative responses I get… little do they know the more negative they are the more they back my point.

I believe in helping drug addicts fight their addiction, not sending them to jail. That being said, I can not think of any reasons why being obese has the potential to be harmful to anybody other than the obese person. Although not all drug addicts commit crimes (other than buying/selling/possesing), there are many people who do become so addicted to drugs that they steal, etc. to fund their habit. That is harmful to other people, which is why they are looked down upon more.
Plus, eating is something that everybody does so I guess you could say becoming obese is taking a normal thing too far. Everybody knows drugs are addicting. People often think they won't get addicted when they start, but they know that first hit is illegal and they do it anyway. I think there should be more services out there to help both.
And yes, I agree, there are several drugs that require hospitilization while detoxing to prevent the possibililty of serious side effects such as seizures or death (alcohol being one of them), so IMO I would say quitting drugs is much harder than losing weight.
I don't necessarily have an answer to your question, just some things to think about. My opinion is that obese people actually have more choice in their "addiction" than drug addicts, however obese people do not hurt anyone other than themselves and that is not always true with drug addiction.

Some obese people are ill and cant contoll their size. A drug addict used drugs by choice. They are sick too. A drug addict who wants to become well I can understand but one that doesnt, will be all those things you mentioned.

No we should not look down on people, people make mistakes but people DO look down on obese people and because drugs are illegal, the users and dealers are going to pay for it.
Also, an overweight person is not an endangerment to anyone but themselves. A drug user, through lack of judgement can harm many and do illegal things.

it may well be because maximum fat people are seen as people without will potential and persons that're lazy, dont get round and flow or end ingesting junk food and prepare dinner for themselves. i understand a few of those people are ill, yet dissimilar them can conquer and choose no longer to be large. so that they both do not care what people say or imagine about them or are basically lazy to do some thing.
