the league is all about its image nowadays. why do you think they changed the rules this year and have slapped suspensions on players who do things that make the league look bad? stern and his boys LOVE d-wade and lebron because they are young and fresh, but most importantly because they have squeeky clean images. that's why they get a lot of recognition and are considered the "poster boys" for the nba today. theres no denying kobe and AI are two of the best players in the league, but because they have gotten into trouble in the past i guess they are not considered the greatest "role models" for kids. it sucks, but thats the way it is now.

properly I disagree with Wade prevailing MVP. certain he has been doing Phenominal the most suitable 12 or so video games, yet LeBron has been doing phenominal ALL season, and that is what an MVP does. MVP: maximum effective participant, do not get it puzzled with maximum ideal participant. This receives rid of Kobe from the question, because without Kobe, the Lakers would nonetheless be a playoff crew, with Pau, Bynum, and Odom. This keeps LeBron and Wade in the question alongside with Dwight Howard AND Brandon Roy. LeBron, you eliminate him from the Cavs, the Cavs win 20 video games. you position him on the Kings or some thing, they grow to be instantaneous contenders. Dwayne Wade, eliminate him from warmth, and in the present day with 29 wins, they may well be at about 15 in the present day. placed him on the Thunder, they grow to be contenders. Brandon Roy, eliminate him, his crew sucks! placed him on the T-Wolves, and they seem to be a playoff crew. eliminate Dwight from the Magic and they are 13th in the East, placed him on the Wizards and also you've were given a extreme Contender. so as you are able to discover, Kobe isn't as effective as those 4, besides the undeniable fact that the single which would make a crew OVER-THE-correct will be LeBron James. it is my definition of what maximum Vaulable participant means.

If you guys think it's rigged your an idiot. Where do you even see them posterize Wade and Lebron...Wade get's probably the least credit of anybody, still people say crap like heat didn't deserve to win the championship. Plus, stern just named Melo to the All-star team, when he wasn't even voted in or picked by the coaches. The guy got into a fight and has that "thuggish" approach, and now stern just supported him. Yep DEFINTELY rigged. Kobe just hasn't won championships like he did earlier in his career when all you heard about was him, now it's a change. So what seems to be an approach to push Kobe away is more of just the fact he hasn't been in every championship lately...You people seriously think way too much. New people do come into the league you know, it's not just a league of Kobe and AI. Your just to biased to open your eyes.

I agree with Jo. The NBA is all about image. Seems that David Stern wants to get away from the hip hop thuggish NBA type image. Notice what he's done to supposedly "clean up" the NBA.
1. Force all players to dress professionally in suits.
2. Became more strict on technical fouls and suspensions especially fighting suspensions. We forget that people fight in hockey all the damn time.
3. Raise the age of players entering the league so people can't jump from high school to the pros.
4. Created the NBDL as sort of a minor league for the NBA. In reality the NCCA is the minor league for the NBA not the NBDL.
In all fairness being an NBA player is still one of the great jobs in America. They make at minimum at least $150,000 a season, fly around in private team jets, and play a game that most love so much we play for free.

A good deal of what makes an MVP seems to be hype. D Wade has a ton of hype right now.
I think the MVP is going to go to a winning team though, and Miami this year is not Miami last year. For that Dirk for Dallas or Nash for Phoenix have to be front runners. Kobe is borderline and AI is second fiddle to Carmelo in Denver.
