The grafting will be professional, But my main concern is the R1 is a little heavier, and has way more power. I guess I am asking can the 2006 front end handle the extra load? As far as why I would do it, I just say look at the 06 front end. It is a trick piece of machinery.

I might consider sending the forks to an outfit like racetech to have them revalved and sprung for your application. Other than that you should be fine. Good luck, that thing should look pretty cool when it's done.

It should be a straight swap. If your doing it because forks are damaged I'd take a very close look at steering head for cracks, etc

if you got the r6 front end for free then go for it... otherwise if you bought the r6 front setup i would return it and just get better after market suspension for the r1...look for and check out r1 forums...
