Without knowing the type of business we don't know what you need, but as far as programs go, I would start with WordPad or Notepad which is already on your computer, if you have one. You want a PC and not a Mac, unless you are going into computer graphics. WordPad and NotePad are found in Window under Start-All Programs-Accesories.. If you don't have a computer and have limited funds even used pc's with Windows are excellent, if in good working condition. The seller might even show you how to use it and let you call them with questions, if approached right.
WordPad is a simpler word processor than Word. Believe it or not, if you get the first step, the rest will be a lot easier and even fall into place. What usually boggles the mind of a new user of a word processor is that the blank screen is not like a piece of paper. You cannot start writing just anywhere on it. The cursor starts on the upper left hand corner and you can't move anywhere on the page only start typing there. You type some and then you can move around in the area you typed. Again, you can move nowhere on the blank screen. Once you type a few lines or a page you will get an idea of how that works and from there it's a matter of exploring and clicking on different things, seeing how they work, using the help or a book for more assistance, videos and most everyone knows how to use a wordprocessor or Yahoo Q&A. The other programs tend to be understood from your basic knowledge of word processing. Also a word processor may be the most used program in your business. I'd be glad to try and help with any questions, because obviously there are more tips that help a lot.
