Hi, I had a baby 4 months ago. I bleed for 5 1/2 weeks like most people. Then two weeks later I got my first period. It was long like 8 days and really strong. Then two weeks later I was bleeding again very heavy, but no cramps. Then again, 2 weeks later, long hard period. When I went to my OB/ I saw the Nurse Practicioner and she was more worried about my yeast infection. Anyway, Since seeing her, I have started yet another period and there are really large blood clots. And I'm talking bleed through a super tampon in 30 min heavy. Is this too much blood? NOT to mention the cramps are so bad they feel like Contractions. Also my husband left for Iraq shortly after our baby was born so I know I can't be prego. Anything would be nice to know. I have always had heavy periods but never like this, this is crazy. Why all the bleeding, the clots, and the horrible horrible pain?

Insist on seeing your doctor. This is not normal. It may just be crazy hormones--- but whatever it is, you need to have it checked by your OB/GYN.
In fact, if it continues as you are describing, go to the emergency room. Too much blood by far!
Good luck, my dear---

First of all, I want to say how courageous you are to have just had a baby, missing your partner to a war, and having female problems. My heart goes out to you my dear. A yeast infection is nothing, what did the nurse say about your bleeding? Nothing? Then you need to go back. That is not normal. It may take many months for your menstrual to get back to normal but to bleed every 2 weeks very heavy is a concern. You could become anemic also. The next time you have your breakthrough bleeding, contact your Dr. and tell him/her this is not normal and they need to get to the bottom of this. Ask them to please help you. There is a responsibility your Dr. needs to adhere to and hold him/her to that. I wish you the best of luck and do not let this out of hand. Bless you, your new little bundle, and your hubby in Iraq.

Are the doctors sure that you're healing up ok? Maybe you should try to see your OB/Gyn again or get a second opinion. There may be nothing wrong, but if it seems unusual and is causing a lot of trouble and pain, then you want to be on the safe side! I hope that everything is ok!

I hate to say this, but this is something for a doctor to look at...your problem sounds horrible & even though I hate doctors, I would force myself to go if I had this problem.
