Think about it....The NFL wants a franchise in LA, bad. There arent any franchises that are looking to move right now, since the Saints seems to have had a renaissance and are on good terms with the people of New Orleans, at least for now.
NY has two franchises, the only city to do so. NY also seems to care much more about the Giants than the Jets, unless the G-Men are losing and the Jets are winning.
There isnt going to be any new expansion teams, either, because of the good balance with the current number - so if a team is headed to LA, its going to be a move, not an expansion.
Is there a reason why both teams are in NY, a stadium or contract deal or something? Would it really be better to be the second team in the largest market than the only team in the second-largest? The Jets could follow in the footsteps of the Dodgers and baseball's Giants and move out West to find success.

The reason I'm thinking the Jets and not the Giants is A) the NFC East is structured to preserve historical rivalries. B) The Jets could go to the AFC West, bump the Chiefs to the AFC South, send the Colts to the AFC North where they really belong (and would have better competition) and move the Ravens to the AFC East, so an overall better alignment, the Missouri Compromise notwithstanding.
The NFC North and South are pretty well aligned, so bumping the Rams into either would be a less elegant solution

NY City has two teams, NY State has 3; that'd be like saying Philadelphia has two teams because the Steelers are in PA, too.
But California has 3 as well already, as does Florida, so thats a wash to compare states.

It's good for the NFL to have a New York team in each conference, mostly for the TV ratings. Also, with over 18 million people in the the New York Metro area, two teams give more people an opportunity to see a pro football game. As mentioned, moving the Jets would destroy a great rivalry with the Patriots. Finally, since the Jets and the Giants are in a partnership to build a new stadium together, nobody's going anywhere.
Los Angeles is not a pro football town, or a sports town in general. If you're going to move a team there, send the Raiders back. They have worn out there return to Oakland.

The Ravens BELONG in the AFC North. LEAVE IT ALONE. That division is most of the old AFC Central. Take the Clowns out and give us the Jaguars back. That would make a much better division and would make as much sense as the Colts being in the AFC South and the Dolphins being in the AFC East. Actually you want to destroy all kinds of rivalries. The AFC South is the screwed up division because it was the teams that didn't really have rivals. Just move the Jets and throw them in the AFC South, then put the Colts in the AFC East, or perhaps the Titans.
Oh I forgot the whole point of a team in L.A. They don't support the teams. It wouldn't last. As to the Raiders well we all know about Al Davis, L.A., and the NFL. So why not just move the Chargers to LA if they were so desperate for a team. I know some in San Diego would complain but within 5 years it will be shown once again that LA won't support a team and you will get them back. As to the Chiefs they have a rivalry with the Broncos so you can't just move them away. I don't think they are really strong rivals with the Chargers or Raiders at the moment though. The Realignment though was designed to favor the old rivals.
Oh and NY city has 0 teams. They both play at the Medowlands or Giants Stadium in EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY.

There was talk about Glazer selling the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to move to L.A.. Apparently he's so consumed by owning Manchester United now that he's wanting to dump American Football for ye old futbol (soccer).
As far as the Jets moving, I guess it could be possible but I would hate to see it happen. I think the Jets have alot of history in New York and if there's any city that's big enough to have two teams then New York would be it.
I've also heard a rumor about the 49ers but that was awhile back and I'm not sure how much there was to it.
Plus, I wouldn't be shocked if they expanded one more team. They need somebody to be a little bit worse then the Texans ha.

I really don't see the jets going anywhere. I'm sure the NFL is intrigues with Mangini and Belichick being rivals and meeting at least twice a year.

Sure, I don't really care which team moves to LA. But if the Jets ever move to LA, they better change their uniform. They have one of the ugliest uniforms in the NFL.
