He wasn't the devil he was your animal spirit guide and needed your dancing spirit to connect with him dance and chant is very powerful, the white/golden Eagle is the most sacred animal to the Native Americans it is good medicine and you will most likely see him again. Embrace and do not fear. Spirit warrior. :)

I think your perception of what the dream meant as it was happening is the key. I don't think there is any reality in the dream as in the character was a real fallen angel. But I do think the possibility is that you have someone in your life that is trying to dominate you and through fear even though you know this person or circumstance is not good for you, you are still motivated by the fear, doing what the person or circumstance wants.
The repetitive shriveling wings part is you perhaps trying to see the good in what you are going to do but the reality of it is haunting you. You know it's not right but you still go ahead. Possibly even evading the responsibility of conforming to this person or circumstance.
Anyway that was me sending the monkey up the flag pole. It may or may not have bitten and if it didn't don't take any flippin notice lol I'm not a dream interpreter.

Jung always said everyone you encounter in your dreams is an element of yourself.
Is it possible there is a battle going on inside you between a 'good' and a 'bad' decision or course of action? Are you struggling with your energy or is someone robbing you of your energy - draining you? Do you feel perhaps that no matter how hard you try you never accomplish what you set out to do?
Remember we're all angels, we just need to make the good decisions and do nice things and good things will happen to us.

First off, always remember YOU are the best person to analyse your dreams since the symbols are created by YOUR brain. I can't read minds but I'll try since I tend to be pretty good at it.
Now this has nothing to do with God or Satan or anything. Your mind is only using these as symbols.
First the colour white tends to mean purity or innocence.
A forest is basically life. Hard to explain but it's your surrounding area. Like, your experiences, there you go.
While green means wealth (and you were in a forest) gold means riches and extravagance.
The dawn could mean the beginning of a change, like if you were moving or even something internal. And dusk could mean the end of an era, end of one stanza of your life, if that makes sense.
Now the devil could be your--with the risk of sounding like a Star Wars quoter--dark side. Also cunningness, intelligence and slyness. it could also represent someone of power, who you deem as bad, trying to get richer, or IS richer, and trying to act innocent. His using your dancing means you fear you are helping him. Or it's someone Already in power, already rich, who you helped whether unintentionally or not, you are feeling guilty.
Because, you know, the devil could also symbolise guilt.
Like I said, you are best at analysing your dreams but I did my best. Hope it helps.

What an interesting dream. I have had one about fading light and the pull to the depths of the dark woods.
Your dream seems to be one of control issues. Whether you are the one who perceives a situation that you would like to know how to control or what to do about, or someone is trying to control you is something I do not know.
Walking into a forest when light is fading can represent going into a situation that is not going to be clear or worth your trust-lack of light, which reveals truth. You seem not comfortable with the situation because of the devil (not a good thing) being there and trying to entice you with the symbolism of an angel-the white(purity) wings. The devil screams its desperate command at you, but you follow your intuition and avoid that whole situation all together-your leaving that forest and thus the situation.

Weird! It's someone you're close to. Someone who looks like a good person to everyone else. But you know this person is evil or capable of evil things, maybe because you live with him. When he says, "dance..." he wants you to perpetuate the lie to everyone about him being good. But you are not going to lie anymore, and therefore he has lost his power. Everyone will know that he is not a good person.

I can't interpret your dream but I can provide some correlations.
The devil hates being ignored. He uses people,(vessels)to annoy others.Ignore someone who tries to annoy you and most of the time that person will become irritated but what you are seeing spiritually is the devil,HIMSELF getting irritated because he has manifested himself through the vessel of a human being. If you react the way the devil wants you to act you 'do his dance' because he is empowered through hatred, conflict, anger, confusion, etc. We frustrate the devil when we choose to ignore his arrows. He will use people, circumstances, our past, insecurities, etc to get us to react to him.The devil is also empowered when we worry. Any type of fear, depression, etc is to acknowledge him. When you ignore those vessels,(people) that he sends to steal your joy,you weaken him.Something else, due to the fact that the devil deals in the supernatural,he can enter and manifest himself in your dreams. The only energy you or anyone else can give the devil is to react the way he wants you to react. If I were to try to interpret your dream I would say that he is really coming against you.You are probably passing 'tests' that have come you way.He is trying to use your subconsciousness in your dreams to frighten or get you to 'bow down' to his will . If the devil is coming against you, you are going in the OPPOSITE direction than he is.

i study Freud at alevel, and i personally think this seems to be that you are trying to achieve a goal, but unconsciously feel that you are stopped at every turn, and since the man was trying to make wings come out of his own shoulders, i would say that you are stopping yourself. the second part of the dream where you dance is how you compensate for your failing; by getting you to dance, he is trying to blame you for his inability to grow wings.
if you want to put this into your own life, i don't what you are trying to achieve, obviously, but ti could give you a few examples. 1) someone who is trying to lose weight but gives up every time she feels she has not lost enough in a short time, so ends up comfort eating and blaming others for not stopping her
2)or how about someone who is trying to get good marks but doesn't because unconsciously he feels that it is pointless, and then when he doesn't get good marks he blames teachers for not recognising he needed help, instead of looking to his own shortcomings as a student.
if i were you, i would work out what it is you are trying to achieve, and be more positive. like with the first example, instead of the girl feeling like she has failed because she hasn't lost enough, she should be positive and good to herself that she has managed to lose what she has, and carry on, since she will lose more.
i hope this helps you.
