It's interesting, frustrating and always sensational. Yes, there are many CEOs who are overpaid and many have consciences that are inversely proportional to their salaries. But there are also many good ones who work to provide good jobs for their employees and profit for the stockholders. It's easy to pick on these guys, much like it's easy to pick on the president or the military. Picking on CEOs (or the president or the military) is much easier than doing their jobs.
