"Like a Rolling Stone" was written by Bob Dylan and later recorded by Jimi Hendrix. Some confusion also exists on the subject of the song "All Along the Watchtower," one of Hendrix's signature songs. Some people assume Hendrix wrote it, but it was actually written by, once again, Bob Dylan.

I assume you're referring to the song, "Like A Rolling Stone", which was written and recorded by Bob Dylan, before Hendrix got a hold of it.

The song "Rolling Stone" was first sung by Muddy Waters (the band The Rolling Stones got their name from that). "Like A Rolling Stone" was first sung by Bob Dylan (a.k.a Robert Zimmerman).
