Area 51 - Why would the Government hide the truth from us?

I know about area 51. I've talked about it I've even seen it on the history channel and what not. but what i do not understand is why would the government hide the truth about UFOs and aliens? why would they keep this a secret? we already know there are aliens we are not stupid....i just cant understand why they trying to keep it all undercover and what not

I believe in aliens, would be pretty dumb not to with all the stars out there, surely with planets much like our own orbitting; but just maybe area 51 is just a very high secure base...doesn't really mean there are aliens there. It is probably just a reasearch facility that the US don't want anybody finding out about for the countries security reasons.

The russians were a lot more secretive about things, including a stupid sunken submarine which they wanted no help from the west in case they found anything onboard.....stupid politics and paranoia.

Ignorance is bliss. It was said pretty well in the movie Men in Black, i'm paraphrasing here... 'There's always an intergalactic plague, or a death ray, or an alien fleet about to wipe out all life on this miserable little planet, and the only way that the people can continue to live their happy lives is if they DO NOT know about it!'

Think about it, if the government were to come out and say, 'Oh, by the way, we've been chatting with these alien-folk here for 50 years,' would people taken it badly? Of course. There'd be so many questions, like, 'What else are they (the government) hiding?' 'Why didn't they tell us in the first place?' 'What do the aliens want?'

And then there are the people who would freak out about it. Either they've lived their lives bashing the 'life on other planets' folk and have had their beliefs thrown out the window, or, they think the world's going to end and so 'why not go out with a bang?'

And if it is restricted to Area 51, then that means that it's possibly US only. And that lends to matters of national security, with weapons research, technological advances (like velcro, I mean seriously, who could come up with that?), and diplomatic issues.

And even if they haven't been talking to aliens... it's a secret military testing facility. We don't want our potential enemies to know about our cool new toys.

My husband worked at 'area 51' there are NO aliens or space craft there...but it IS owned by the government for aircraft testing.
AF personel work there and the public is not allowed. It's called the Skunk Works. And if you really watch Discovery, you'd know that...it's also been on the History Channel, PBS, and CNN.
Since they announced the F117-A (the little black jet)Nighthawk, was designed out there, they've been more open to the public.
So lets not start or keep rumors going that have no basis in fact.

Why not? The passing regime lied about everything else. There shouldn't be any so called top secret projects kept hidden from the American people and from the rest of the world. That is exactly why we have wars and threats of war happening around the world today. As for Roswell, there is no doubt in my mind that there was a UFO cover up that happen there. For one thing, no body is going to mistake conventional 1947 technology as being something from another world, I don't care how sophisticated the technology might happen to look. Secondly, there were a number of so called high-altitude balloons involved with (project mogul) that went down in a number of different locations around the world and our government didn't rush right in, guns drawn, to recover them. We didn't care if anyone knew about project mogul. In fact, it would have been to our advantage if others did know about the balloons. It would have made their nuclear bomb testing all that more difficult and uncertain. I can't say that it's the result of anything that might have been discovered at Roswell, but I can say with 100% certainty that technology exists today that's being developed and is based upon laws of physics that's light-years ahead of our best scientific and technological efforts.

Well, yes, it is true that Area 51 is used to build hi tech military planes, BUT, they (our government) is using alien (demon) technology.

Demons? You may ask. Yes, they are demons. Period.

Our government leaders have known about these demons and have been working with them I am sure since the creation of our nation.

Do you think UFO's have only been around since the 1930's?

No....

Angels have been shooting down these demon(alien aircraft) before they enter the earths atmosphere the majority of the time.

This is a spiritual battle my friend. It always has been a spiritual battle for our souls.

this is th US govt you're talking about. Did you see the sci fi channel the other night.? it was about the smoking gun concerning Roswell. type in Ramey memo and you will see what I am talking about. me? I dont know if there are aliens, I want to believe and the Ramey memo almost has me convinced..
Outer space....infinately huge I do wanna believe otherwise what's the point of all that vastness of outer space. ya know what I need? I need for a massive craft from beyond our solar system to land on the whitehouse lawn during the noon hour rush in front of ten thousand people so theres no way it could be called anything other than what it is. Stan Friedman says the mystery of Roswell is now a race against the undertaker.

Truthfully, and I have seen the same shows on PBS, Discovery and The History Channel.... is to avoid Mass Hysteria. While ethically questionable to withhold such a nugget of information, the best "official" standpoint is to neither confirm or deny anything. Some parties will let it go, others can be written off by publically dismissing the idea as "crazy" or a religious sect in which the masses will dismiss the idea as well.

I remain unconvinced and feel that the Universe IS in fact large enough to support and contain multiple forms of extra-terrestrial life and we could stand to learn from them and them from us, but not in any of our lifetimes. Or they could just show up and try to destroy the planet fueling more religious zealots. This is my speculation to be taken with a grain of salt.

This rumor is the most ridiculous idea in the world. If there were aliens no human would be able to keep it a secret, govt. enforced or not. Humans would exploit it for fame or money I assure you.

Area 51 is just a base where they did and still do testing of top secret aircraft, hence all the sitings of unusual looking aircraft. I am sure they are doing things now that would blow your mind, like the F-117 did in the 80's and the SR71 did in the 70's. Please, for the love of God and all that's holy,...put this one to rest!!

now if there were aliens at area 51 they would be afraid people would panic histeria would take over probably there just conducting test and hiding there technologie anyway if there were aliens at one time at area 51 they would have sent them off to some secluded not so popular site away from all publicity OH yeah by the way my husband works at an observatory in quebec and for you non believers ha ha your wrong there are things out there you dont know about but its ok play it safe if it makes you happy

It has been on the History channel, discovery channel, PBS and many others for years now. There was a lot secrecy to it since it was a military research location but it doesn't necessarily mean that they were hiding the truth about aliens
