It is not an addiction unless it affects other parts of your life. In other words, if one begins missing work, skipping meals, doesn't spend time with family and friends, for the need of sexual stimulation, it can be concidered an addiction. This goes for anything!
Substituting one thing for many things in your life is addiction.
Work, sex, drugs, alcohol etc....

Yes, people can truly be addicted to sex. I've even heard theories (not sure about them, though) that say that sex addiction is less pyschological, and more like a real substance addiction- an addiction to the chemical produced in the brain when one has an orgasm. Interesting stuff.
But wanting sex everyday, all day, isn't sex addiction- the definition of all addiction is when you want something even though it is harmful to you. If your desire for sex doesn't hurt you or disrupt your life, it isn't really an addiction. I think most of us want lots of sex, regardless of who it's with . . . it's when you have it anyways, with whomever, without really enjoying it after the actual act, and possibly feeling guilty about it, that you're probably doing harm to yourself and need help.
Hope that makes sense and helps.

A high sex drive is ok, but when it cannot be controlled and the desire to have sex on a whim with any random person is certainly not healthy. You are much more likely to have unwanted pregnancy or STDs.

It is not necessarily wrong, but dangerous. Yes, people can be addicted to sex, just as they can be to food, alcohol, drugs, etc. There are too many diseases out there to be having sex with multiple people.

wanting sex all day is normal. But when people use sexual addiction as an excuse to cheat on their spouse that is just an excuse.

yes, i think they can. some have an addictive personality. whether that be alcohol, drus, food, sex...ect. i think if you need sex constantly to feel good and it is affecting your everyday life and socializing, then you need to get some help.

seriously I don't know the answer to your question. I would think that a lot of people use constant sex as a means of getting constant approval..but i really don't know.
