I won an item on ebay that cost a great deal of money.I was looking at the sellers other items and it seems the seller sells a lot of this item.It says the item in 100% factory sealed in box and the picture shows a NEW looking item.Uses the same picture for all items but when I looked at the sellers feedback he has negative feedback for this item from several customers stating that the item is not new it is refurbished. Some even say the item does not work properly and the seller does not make it right.I am now afraid to pay for the item because of this. What if anything can I do about this?

I should have looked at the feedback before bidding but when I saw the item it looked like a good deal to me.I dont mind paying if it works but if it does not he will not make it right.I would have to contact the company and who knows they may say they are not responsible either.

First of all, you are responsible for checking out the buyer/seller's reputation to ensure that he/she is someone you want to deal with BEFORE you bid or buy.

Then you are responsible for reading the ENTIRE Item Description BEFORE you enter your bid or buy. If something in the description seems wrong - it usually is - heed the warnings in your head - your instincts are usually right!

When you enter your bid or buy, you also agree to ALL of the Terms of Service (TOS) that you read. Once you enter your bid or buy you are legally obligated to complete and pay for the purchase unless the seller agrees to allow you to back out of it.

So contact the seller and tell him you changed you mind and to ask him/her to allow you to back out of the sale. The least that could happen is that you will be blocked from ever bidding on this seller's items again. I know that's what I would do.

The worst that could happen is that the seller can file an Unpaid Item Strike against you and your feedback will be a negative. But you will not be out money and you can comment on the negative feedback.

Please use caution the next time you see something on eBay or any other online auction site. Research everything on the item BEFORE you bid or buy. Become an informed consumer!

Be sure to read the description to make sure he did not state that it is refurbished, I notice that sometimes sellers omit the truth, by never saying it is NEW. You can also contact the seller and tell them that you want to withdraw your bid they may leave you negative feedback but you are able to respond to that. Good Luck.

this sounds questionable at best!

he is using stock photos, has crappy feedback left, no return policy.

RUN like the wind!

you can email me the item # and i will look at it for you. i am great at ferreting out SCAMS.

if you insist on going through with this pay through PAYPAL with a CREDIT CARD!

DO NOT pay any other way!

the CC has the best protection as you can do a chargeback.

DON'T buy expensive items from any seller w/o 99% feedback.

well, you don't have to pay...but the seller will probably file a non-paying bidder report (or something like that) to eBay.....and leave you negative feedback..which you can respond to.....

next time ....always check the persons feedback rating and read the their ad carefully ... if you have any question than ask the seller before bidding......
