Valentines Day is a marketing racket. Sure there was really a St. Valentine, but modern day has lost tract of it's origin and encourange people to BUY BUY BUY for their sweethearts and if you do not spend enough money on him/her, you do not love them enough. A whole bunch of baloney if you ask me--And just for the record, I have a boyfriend and I do not expect him to BUY BUY BUY.
So, because you sound like you do not have someone to celebrate the day with, cheer up--it did not cost you an arm and a leg. SO not only did you save yourself money, now you have money for YOURSELF, just because. What is really depressing to me is that the flowers DIE and the candy gets EATEN and the jewelery gets LOST. See I just saved you all that depression--now go out and celebrate Valentines day and be good to yourself!! After all, if you cannot love yourself, how can you expect anyone else to love you? And if all else fails, go curl up with the cat--you KNOW you are loved there! (I have 3)

ME! ME! ME! I think I'm going to sit down with a bag of cookies and curl up in a blanket, and watch a horror movie to get my mind off this stupid day. Jeez. It's just a day for Hallmark to make money.

me, my gf is in hospital tonite, i cant be with her, hospital in another city. Her situation is very serious and not likely to be resolved by valentines day.and thats why this dude is answering questions...to take my mind off my problems. no sure diagnosis but may be serious in the extreme nnww i am having troubl typing got somethin in my eye

If you are like me I just pretend that it is just another day any surprises that I might or might not get just make me feel better about that day. Don't take it so rough.

I will. I broke up with my girlfriend. I am love-less. Lol. I'm used to it, though. I just hope nobody expects me to be happy and cheerful.
