Itunes Help question Please help.?

I have just plain old Itunes thaty works for the old white shuffle well I just bought an ipod video and I was wondering if I download Itunes 7.0 if it will delete the songs I have right now on my Itunes. Thanks for any help.

No it shouldn't, because the songs are in a separate folder somewhere else on the computer and the updated software will just find the folder and use it so it no it won't.
