We don't have such a figure in the US congress. Our Congress is made up of two separate groups:
The House Of Representatives, that is headed by the Speaker of the House. Chosen by the majority party of the House.
The Senate, which is led by the Vice President of The United States. The Vice President doesn't have a vote, except in the case of a tie vote.

Technically, there is no "president of Congress". The leader of the House of Representatives is the Speaker of the House, who is from the majority party. The president of the Senate is the Vice President of the United States, who may or may not be from the majority party.

There is no "president of congress," other than the President of the (entire) United States, George Bush. The House of Representatives has the Speaker of the House (2nd in line for the president after the VP), who is Nancy Pelosi. The Senate (our other branch of congress) has the Majority Leader (Harry Reid) and the Minority Leader (Mitch McConnell), but the vice president can vote to break ties.

The Speaker of the House is elected by the majority party.
