Socket Error # 11004 usually is an indication that Spybot-S&D is being blocked from accessing the internet. Make sure that SpybotSD.exe is authorized in your firewall to access the internet.

If you are sitting behind a proxy server:
Go into Spybot > Mode > Advanced mode > Settings > Settings. About 2/3 of the way down the option tree there is a category "Web update". Check the last item in the list "Use proxy to connect to update server". A pop-up will come up were you can enter the information required.
If you are sitting behind a proxy server and need to know what the settings shoul be, there are hints in the following article on how to find them:

The integrated update is not working. Are there any solutions for this?

2 things it could be

1) being blocked from the Internet

2) older version and dose not support the update so check for a newer version

Try uninstalling and reinstalling Spybot. Some spyware/malware messes with your Spybot installation to prevent it getting deleted.

If that doesn't work, you can also try AVG Anti-Spyware ( http://free.grisoft.com/doc/20/lng/us/tpl/v5 ) or TrendMicro's online scanner ( http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ ).

Maybe the first thing you should do is go here and remove Pest Trap.
