This yahoo answers appears to have been designed by psychologists to keep us on here. There is the immediate satisfaction of typing in your answer, and seeing it appear on the screen. There is the reinforcement of the thumbs up. When other people react to what you've said, this is also reinforcing. What gets reinforced gets continued.
Knowing this, I still have a hard time getting off yahoo answers.
Compared to fixing or cleaning things around the house, this is easy and instantly gratifying. No one's giving thumbs up on the tile job or for unloading the dishwasher.
It's probably better not to get on at all. ...
