my id does not get signed in to windows live messenger...why is this and how can it be rectified?

other people can sign in to windows live messenger from here....i can sign in through the default windows messenger and i also can on hotmail.com....but everytime i try to sign in with my id on wndows live messenger...it starts hanging.....HELP!?

1)Try to reinstall messenger and see if you can able to sign in
2) If you are using windowsxp,check for firewall settings...
