ALIEN was good but I vote for John Carpenter's 1980 remake of "The Thing" which made me nervous nights for the next month. No other movie has ever disturbed me so much. Gross-out alien horror combines with paranoic suspense at a barren Antarctic research outpost. Another good one is the 1970's remake of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" with Donald Sutherland. Again, hostile aliens burrow from below to wipe out humanity--and you'll never know what hit you!

"LITTLE NEMO"
not "finding nemo"
it tricks you..... first, you think its some pleasant kids movie, but then it messes with your head and puts in all the characters and situations that frightens you half to death. I was too scared to finish it when i was little and ever since that, i haven't even looked at it....
I'm scared for life because that movie.

Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ". Not a horror flick like one would think but definitely gory. I almost passed-out when Christ was beaten.

Ridley Scott's 1979 sci-fi screamer, "Alien". Fascinating concept, and terrifying through and through. My girlfriend nearly passed out during the last half hour, it was so nerve-wracking!

When it came out, "Poltergeist" scared me to death. It took all my childhood fears and made them real. I also loved the storyline.
