The skinny girls seemed to be the most self consious about being thin. One girl I knew didn't like wearing shorts because she thought her legs were too skinny. I wasn't in high school that long ago either. I graduated in 2006 and I'm 18.

Thin is always in. However, as a culture, we are getting progressively lazier. Laziness=fatness. That is what you are seeing.

Hey you're the same as me (graduated 2006- 18). But anyhow- it's a known fact that most Americans are obese. And I'm guessing your highschool cafeteria wasn't big on serving healthy foods either- most highschools aren't. Well not mine anyways- they basically served as either mac and cheese or pizza everyday. And it's not even that thin is in- thin is healthy and thin is good- and in case you haven't already discovered this- good things in this world are rare.

Hey, no matter where you look there will be a fat person right next to you. Blame American Society, with all the unhealthy food, fast food, junk food etc. Theres just so many. Oh yeah, and not exercising!!!

Maybe the girls there were just bigger and super skinny girls didnt feel attractive because it wasnt the norm? I dont know. My school had very few fat girls, everyone looked anorexic and i graduated in '06 as well

Blame the fast-food culture in the States.
