Considering the fact that blacks from Africa sold their fellow countrymen into the European slave trade (Source:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavery#European_slave_trade), shouldn't African-Americans be petitioning African governments for reparations also? I would like answers on the grounds of principle, NOT related to economic reasons (ie. no, because Africa cannot afford it).

Of course they should, but they won't. Blacks can't seem to accept that their own kin were the ones responsible for their slavery, who valued firearms and other goods more than the life and freedom of their own race. Although, if I were black, I would secretly be glad to be living in the US today and not Africa.

But yes, African blacks are just as guilty as anyone.
