1st Method:
(2x-5)/3 -3/2=(x+4)/5
(2/3)x-5/3-3/2=(x/5)+4/5
*30 *30
20x-50-45=6x+24
-6x -6x
14x-50-45=24
14x-95=24
+95 +95
14x=119
/14 /14
x=8.5

2nd Method:
(2x-5)/3 - 3/2=(x+4)/5
(2x-5)5/3 - 3(5)/2 = (x+4)
(10x-25)/3 - 15/2 = x+4
(10x-25) - 45/2 = (x+4)(3)
10x-25-22.5 = 3x+12
7x - 22.5 = 37
7x = 59.5
x = 59.5/7
x=8.5

3rd Method
(2x-5)/3 -3/2=(x+4)/5
(4x-10-9)/6 = (x+4)/5
(4x-19)/6 = (x+4)/5
20x-95 = 6x+24
14x = 119
x=119/14
= 8.5

find lowest common denominator:

10(2x-5)/30 - 45/30 = (x+4)/30

multiply each side by 30

= 10(2x-5) - 45 = x+4

expand the bracket

= 20x-50-45 = x+4
= 20x-95 = x+4

subtract 4

= 20x - 99 = x

subtract 20x

= -99 = -19x

divide by -19

and you get

x=99/19
or 5.2105263

that is possibly not the right answer, but it's those steps

-6x -6x

(2x-5)/3 - 3/2=(x+4)/5
(2x-5)5/3 - 3(5)/2 = (x+4)
(10x-25)/3 - 15/2 = x+4
(10x-25) - 45/2 = (x+4)(3)
10x-25-22.5 = 3x+12
7x - 22.5 = 37
7x = 59.5
x = 59.5/7
x=8.5

Check:
(2x-5)\3 - 3\2 = (x+4)\5
(2(8.5)-5)\3 - 1.5 = (8.5+4)\5
(17 - 5) \ 3 - 1.5 = 12.5 \ 5
12\3 - 1.5 = 2.5
4 - 1.5 = 2.5
2.5 = 2.5

Congrats, you just passed basic to intermediate algebra.
