I am searching for medical transcriptionists and would like to know the average rate they charge per line.

I'm about to subcontract a few MT's and would like to have an idea of the going rates for MT's?

If possible i'm looking for rates within the united states and offshore.

Note: I'm also looking into the quality of the work, as well. But that's another story.

Thanks for your help.

Calling all MT's if you do not feel comfortable answering this question, please email me at nancysoffice@gmail.com or leave your info on the comment box and I will email you for more details.

Also, I am inquiring about general transcriptionist, as well.

It basically depends on the years of experience and how many specialties they can type. On average, most companies hire MTs starting around 8 cents a line. I have been with my company for 8 years, and make 9 cents a line. I know that I could be making more because I type almost every specialty but I don't complain because of the flexibility I'm allowed and I work at home which is the bonus for me.
