guess if someone hurt me once than i wouldn't be so eager to go back into it again with that person. as we all just want to live life and not be hurt, there really isn't any way to guard the heart when u love someone, because when we are in love we have to make ourselves vulnerable again we have to trust again, and just hope the person can be trusted with our heart again.

My heart goes out to you - I'm still trying to figure this one out. We've managed to become friends again, but then we still cross the line and occasionally become more than friends for a night or so. Then it's back to friendship-turned-anger-turned-really p*d off- then numb. This is a really hard roller coaster to ride. If you can think before you speak, and think before you act, it helps. Try to avoid spontaneity if you can - you really need a clear head listening to your heart (AND YOUR GUT!) right now, not your passion or your hormones ruling your fragile heart. And don't be afraid to ask for help or advice. You've already taken your first step here! BEST of luck to you.

Just be careful and dont fall too deep this time. Keep your heart guard up and dont fall so easily this time. If they hurt you again then dump them and dont look back and move on with your life this time. You have a big heart to be giving this person another chance . They are lucky you have such a heart to do so . I do not think i could do it or handle it again.

The best way to protect it, especially if the person back in your life is the one who hurt you the most is to remember that if they did it once they can do it agian. Tell them that you need them to earn your trust back. The key word is earn. it shouldn't be given freely again knowing the past.
