March you butt to college this moment! :) j/king! DO it! Don't look back, DO IT! it will be the best thing ever...1st of all, you came from a situation and past of mistakes...what better way to show where your headed and how you have turned your life around by going to college! I have a feeling it will be the best thing you ever do! Never, Never, Never Give UP- Winston Churchill. I
I'm 26 now and went to college and loved it. However, looking back at it now...If I knew then what I know now....I would have done it diff. In this world, everyone is going back at all ages, so you won't be alone. I had classes with semior citizens and I gotta tell ya, they kicked some ***! :) I know the feeling of being LOST...I am lost again at age 26 and with a good paying job, that i'm not happy at...SO it goes full cycle...who knows, this may help you find what your true calling or passion is...but think....in 10 years do I want to look back at this time in my life and think....WOULDA, COULDA, SHOULDA!

I've been part time since high school. I'm 23 and I've just started attending full time.
At 22 you are definitely not too old. I should have waited before starting college as I was "too smart for my own good" and screwed up my GPA really bad. Now my academic options are limited.
I think a lot of people feel the way you feel.

Oh you should definitely go to college. It is a wonderful experience and will earn you lots more than money in the future. It is a way to experience and learn new things. It is a way to demonstrate your desire to better yourself from your past. It will be hard to get a job with a felony, but the college degree will help to progress your life in a positive way - more than not having the degree. Also, college graduates earn substantially more money in their lifetime than non-college graduates. And, you never know who you will meet or what you will learn in college that will make all of the above easier. Good luck and go for it.

Maybe you can get a pardon.
Second, you could just get some kind of license for banking or accounting. You don't have to go to college or uni. However, it's a good experience. All that reading and studying sharpens your mind and plus you can meet lots of people.
Or you could enter the skills trade (ex., electrician). My friend is doing his apprenticeship and although it's hard work, he's going to be making way more money than me.
Do some research on different career paths. Hey man, don't be too hard on yourself. I think it's cool that you have a felony (but inconvenient too).

ONE: PLease do not end your life!!!
You are SO YOUNG!!!! You are just a kid!! YES!! GO to college if you want to! My mom started a second career and went back to school at age 50! You will find that if you go to college - you will be one of the younger ones!! Also, you will find that when you get there, everyone else is just and lost as you are and college will open up a lot of possibilities for you - even if you don't finish. I went to college late after screwing up with drugs and crummy boyfriends.
A felony for robbery is possible to overcome. Many people have done worse and gotten caught and gone on to be just fine if they change and don't continue down that road. If you are truthful with employers and have changed your life, most people will accept you. Besides, look at all these stupid movie stars and sports figures who assault people, steal stuff (Winona Ryder), get caught with drugs, murder (OJ), rape - every possible crime - and people still look up to them. You're doing better than they are - even if you're not famous!
It sounds like your problem is depression if you are considereing ending your life! Sure, ending your life will end all of your temporary worries - BUT it will also end your LIFE! A possibly wonderful and fullfilling life that can help many others. If you overcome your problems and back gound, you can help and inspire many people like you. Please do not end your life - you can do many great things! As well, you will devastate your friends and family. Even if it feels like no one cares about you right now, there are people who care - even all us crazy strangers on this yahoo thingy!!!!

There are people who have had terrible run-ins with the law and have become hugely successful, so don't discredit yourself on that basis. Don't even think about ending your life, you have your whole life in front of you.
Many of my friends at uni are mid/late-twenties and early 30s, it's definitely not too late to start. Be choosy and pick something which has a good potential for employment.
