How important is aluminium in Australia?

Why not check this site. Aluminium metal and refined alumina are major Australian exports. Smelting of aluminum is a major power user and why Australia has a high CO2 production per head of population. Also check out sites for Bell Bay and Gladstone, which latter is one of the larger smelters.
