My fiancee is going to have her first visit sometime soon because we're getting married in June and will probably be using some sort of pill (we haven't been sexually active and we're waiting). She generally feels unpleasant about going for this visit in and of itself, but is, I think, most bothered by the speculum tests. She's pretty sure she hasn't stretched her hymen yet and has been hoping to save doing so for our first time having sex. I won't be bothered either way (as I expect most women's hymens to likely have been stretched before sex by activity, tampons, or masturbation), but she wishes it that way. So for her I want to ask if anyone has had, or knows if you can have the gynecologist exams without having the speculum tests/pap smear done since this would make her feel quite a bit better about it?

Yes, it can be requested that no speculum is used for the first visit but most drs (whether a primary care physician or a gynecologist) will explain that they want to do the pelvic exam and pap smear to double check to make sure things are ok before they will prescribe the pill to the patient.

They have special speculums that are designed not to break the hymen during the exam like what happened to me at 18. The kind of speculum that they use on virgins is called a Baby Pedersen.

The secret to the use of the speculum as far as comfort is to make sure she stays relaxed during the procedure if she can't get out of having it done even though it won't be easy. If she finds that the dr is too rough she can ask that the dr stop. If she hurts in the first few minutes of the exam it can be b/c of being tense which is why I say about relaxing. The other reason could be b/c of an infection going on.

My hymen didn't get broken til I had my very first pelvic exam and pap smear.

But I highly recommend that she talk to the dr in plain clothes about her wishes before going ahead and having to go thru the exam. It will make her feel not so intimdated by this.

One she stopped being a virgin alleged or unlikely the day after she had Jesus. 2 i've got constantly puzzled no remember if she's lied approximately being a virgin to get out of worry for being pregnant out of wedlock and getting killed, plenty plenty extra possible... The e book of Mary became rejected from the Bible via guy, it is not seen a holy text fabric, I take information from the Bible yet no longer from different random stuff people who lived a pair hundred years after Jesus wrote and have been given rejected.
