I like this guy.....but i'm not sure if its a good idea?!?

Question

So, this is the deal:

My best friend decided she wanted to hook me up with her cousin.

She was hanging out with him and she asked him what he thought of me and he said “she’s pretty cute” He had mentioned that he thought I was “cute” back in the summer a couple of times to her as well.

So me, her, our friend, and her cousin watched a movie and got some food and just hung out…

Like 2 weeks later I was over at her house and me, her, and our same friend were going to go to see “Stomp the Yard” while we were at the movie he (her cousin) was over at her house and was texting her, and then she got a text from him that said:

“Tell Kate I left a surprise on her car, and that I don’t really watch her in her sleep”

After the movie us three girls went to Denny’s Diner for something to eat and he texted her:

“What did you guys think of my surprise? Hahaha” and she told him we weren’t home yet.

After me and her dropped off our friend we went home to her house and we went to go look at my car. He had written on the windows with window paint stuff like:

“I like to watch you in your sleep”
“HELLO!”
“don’t worry it washes off!!”
“<3”
And he also left his phone number and wrote in big letters “CALL ME!!”

Later he texted her asking if I liked my car? I said yes.
Then my friend asked me while we were in her room “Do you like him?” and I wasn’t sure what to say because I haven’t really hung out with him that much, but I do think I like him. Also, I had a feeling he asked her if I liked him. So I said “I don’t know him that well” and she asked me “but what do you think of him?” and I said I thought he was nice.

I’m a little hesitant to start something with him because he’s good friends with her older brothers and I don’t want them getting upset.

Guys have this rule that we aren't allowed to date our best friend's sister(s). It's to keep things from becoming a mess and to make sure nothing gets in the way of our comraderie.

I always thought girls were more flexible with this kinda thing, so in HS, I asked some of my ladyfriends how it went with them. Some said nuh uh, some said yah (before changing the subject right away), and some said sure since they did it and nothing bad happened.

First off this IS your best friend, but she asked you if you liked him so she's giving you the OK. Second, this is her cousin, so you're safe there. As far as her older bros go, it's cool there too. Guys like to joke around with this sorta stuff within the family, so you'll fit right in.
