i have a pacific tree frog in a cage at home and i feed him crickets but feeding time is probably the only time he moves.

Well, if you're small, and things bigger than you tend to eat you, your camouflage only works as long as you're sitting still. Eating, mating, and escaping a predator are the only times they have reason to move. So if you're looking for an "exciting" pet, tree frogs aren't a good way to go!

Is he warm enough? Reptiles and amphibians are often very still when they're too cool; perhaps he needs a bit more heat in his enclosure.
