A good ball player? Undoubtedly. A great one? Remains to be seen whether he can aquire his old form back after several years of injuries. He is one of the finest of this decade, I think it will be admitted by experts.

The six-time All Star may come back to the form he had in the first half of the 2006 season, before he was injured, when he was batting about .358 . He always was a fine fielder.

Nomar Garciaparra DEFINITELY has talent. The problem is his health. If he could stay healthy year-in and year-out, he'd be one of the premier players, in my opinion. With this guy, you get tons of talent but also an injury risk much like a better J.D. Drew. Garciaparra is able to play all infield positions (1B, 2B, 3B, and SS) so that makes him even more valuable. So my answer is... yes, Nomar Garciaparra is a good baseball player.

I think Nomar is a good baseball player with great talent. His best years were with Boston but he has shown that when he is healthy he can still be one of the best at the plate. There was a time he was impressive with his glove but I think those days are gone. Unfortunately, he is extremely injury prone. He is constantly having issues with his hamstrings and groin; this hurts his ability to run the bases and his range in the field. The man gets hurt running out of the batter's box. He reminds me a little of Don Mattingly, both have Hall of Fame type numbers for the first part of their careers but their chances of getting to the Hall seem slim to none because they were hampered by injuries for the second half of their career which killed their stats.

I think everyone in the majors is a good baseball player. When he is actually playing and not hurt, Nomar is exceptional, his stats speak for themselves. I hope he stays healthy for a few years at least, gets some stability with the dodgers and resumes his great career. I hated seeing him get traded from BOS and scuffle w/ the Cubs... hopefully he has found a home and will continue to excell.

I like Nomar and I think that last proved that he still has what it takes to play in the major leagues. I agree with you, he is a good baseball player.

When healthy, Nomar is one of the game's best players. He showed in 2006 that he still has the touch.

I think he's a great baseball player. He was the premier player of the Red Sox for a while, had a bad injury in Chicago, and bounced back to have an All Star season at first base in LA.

he is a fantastic baseball player. switching from shortstop to first base is easier said then done

i also hear hes even better at soccer than baseball but went with baseball because at the time you could make more money there. (and you still can and will)

He's a very productive hitter when he is healthy. Putting him at 1st base will prolong his career.

It's good to see him back in the game on a regular basis.
