I think it's normal for humans to experience this due to hormonal changes. Sometimes we feel sad for no reason and sometimes we feel extremely happy...the problem is when sadness turns into depression, that's where you should seek help. People who have low self-esteem, who consistently view themselves and the world with pessimism or who are readily overwhelmed by stress, are prone to depression. it doesn't necesarilly has to be bipolar llike everyone's saying. You could also be feeling insecure, try to do stuff that makes you feel confident, exercising, eating healthy and living a healthy lifestyle should help you a lot.

It sounds to me like you are suffering a form of depression, to find out which one you will need to consult with a gp or therapist. It may be bi-polar, but it could as easily be anxiety depression.
I have worked through anxiety depression myself, and understand the thinking negatively, it is something you can train yourself out of. Strange sounding I know. You need to think of one good thing about yourself everyday without adding the word "but" to the sentence. It could be how you look, some personal traits (strength, courage, pride for eg), it could be how you handled a situation, it could be something you did. Anything, as long as it is positive. This will do 2 things, firstly it will give you a little time everyday to think of something good about yourself, and help boost your self esteem, because you aren't always looking for the negatives. Secondly, it will help change negative thoughts to positive ones, because you are consciously making the decision to look for good things.
Please don't go down the medication road, if you can help it; a doctor firmly told me not to and looking back it was hard work, but I am glad I didn't.

It means your human. You can't always be happy, it's impossible. Use your moments of unhappiness as a time to go over your life and see what in it is making you feel this way, you probably just need to make some changes, and usually those changes are big ones, but need to be done. Life is ever changing, we either change, or we continue to live in a rut. It's all about choices. LOL

fortunately, it's a treatable medical condition and not something you have to deal with forever. it's caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain, and it's a minor and very common occurence for people of all ages. see a doc and he's fix it with minimal prescription.

Sounds like you may be bi-polar. Do a search online & see if you have any of the other symptoms.

It is not in & of it's self bad to have happier & sadder moments.
It's only if you can't function properly in the day to day give & take of life that you need to worry.
