There is a very good film (1957) called the "Three Faces of Eve" that was a successfully adaptation of a real case study. The only real dramatic addition is that the director made the actress (Joanne Woodward) drop her head and go into kind of a trance when her different personalities surfaced.

One of my friends has this disorder-- although her psychologist calls it DID, not MPD--and her personalities surface without any dramatic effects. It is a troubling problem, I know and can cause much confusion at times.

Another good option would be to seek out the Psychology research department in the University nearest to you, and ask if they can provide you with some information.

In addition, seek out mental health care providers, or else free counseling (if you can't afford it on your own). DID, or MPD, does not have to be debilitating and most people can be helped. Good luck in your search and try to remain focused....

It is interesting to know that you have MPD, though I thought it is still a very controversial stuff whether MPD exists or not. I know my answer is not what you are looking for, but it would be very very interesting to know how can you function with MPD. Thanks.
