Sort of...my husband bought a used BMW w/warranty and it went FUBAR less than 30 days after the warranty expired. I feel your pain.

Yes, I've had that happen to me several times too.
If I'm buying something and the checkout person persistently tries to sell me a extended warranty for "x" years, I say "So that means it will fall apart or stop working the day after x years."

LOL....I think there's a law that requies things to break the day after the warranty runs out!!! ;o)
I also have another problem: When something isn't working and I want to show it to someone, it works while they're there and it dies again when they leave. (JEEESH)
