ur interview really starts before u even say one word...it starts with ur resume...which should list ur qualifications and should be taylored to the job u r applying for...then once u go for the interview before they ask u anything they are already making decisions based upon ur attire, the way u walk, handshake, etc...so dress casual profession, walk and talk with confidence, and have a firm handshake (not like a vice grip or anything)...as the interview proceeds they usually look for how well and completely u answer their questions, they look for ur thought process, problem solving techniques, how well u r qualified for the job, if u r a gud team player, how well u communicate, how well u can work relatively unsupervised, how passionate u r about working for the company...these r just a few things...so a couple things to remember: dress appropriately, arrive early, look well groomed, exude confidence, believe it or not u need to have fresh breath, research the company and the position u applied for ahead of time , and always have questions to ask them prepared, so that u can ask them at the end of the interview...cuz remember this really is a two way street...u r also conducting a mini interview of this company to see if u will really fit in well there...so i know this is really long...but gud luck!

Job interviewers look for honesty, commitment, intelligence, a demonstration that you will give your all. Employers don't want to hire an employee who is unreliable or who says all the right things but then doesn't deliver once you get hired. You can show this by how you dress, your eye contact and handshake, asking questions, being respectful. Then you can walk the talk by actually doing a good job for your employer.

Good spelling and grammar would be one thing.
Basically, they're not going to interview you unless they feel you have the qualifications (i.e. knowledge) for the job. So if you get an interview, focus on showing them how professional you can be. Convince them that you're a team player and will add to the workplace. Be confident in yourself and try to be honest.
Ask for a business card at the end and follow up with a short email thanking them for their time (the following day).
Good luck.
