There is no way you can have an oscar, pleco, and red tailed shark in a ten gallon. I think temp is the least of your worries. Get a bigger tank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then keep it between 75 and 80.

Sorry, but no temp will help your poor fish you have crammed in that little tank. Oscars grow to 13-16 inches and need at least 55 gallons all alone. Red tail sharks grow to 6 inches and due to their nature need at least 30 gallons. Plecos(I'm assuming common pleco) grow to 2 feet and need at least 125 gallons all alone. So to keep your fish healthy, you are going to need at least 180 gallons.

Sorry I don't have better news. The people at the pet store should have asked you what size tank you had before selling you those fish. I would take the fish back ASAP and get some smaller fish like a betta and neons or something.

Ideal temp about 76-78 F. But, your real problem is the tank is wayyyy to small for any of those fish, much less the 3 together. Either get rid of all of them and get a smaller community type fish, or in the very near future purchase a 75 gallon tank to keep all 3 of them. Here's a site for oscars, read read and read the forum and the article sections as well :)

All of those fish would do well at a standard tropical temperature of 76 or 78 degrees F. HOWEVER.

A single oscar needs to be kept in a minimum of 55 gallons as it can reach a foot to a foot and a half in length. To mix it with other fish, you lots more room than that since oscars are aggressive and predatory. They really only mix with other Central/South American cichlids, of similar size and temperment.

A common pleco is even larger, though not as aggressive, but needs plenty of territory to feel comfortable and lots of water because of how much ammonia it produces. Commons can grow to from 18" to almost 2 feet long and need 55 - 120 gallons.

Redtailed sharks max out at 4 - 6" and can be kept by themselves in smaller tanks -- your tank would be okay, barely, water quality wise, but it would be cramped -- but if you want to keep them with other fish they need closer to 50 gallons or more, since they get more and more territorial as they get bigger.

Keeping all three of them in a 10 gallon tank is not only going to be a nightmare in trying to keep the water clean, but even if you manage to keep them alive, they'll end up stunted and in poor health as well as getting aggressive with each other over the cramped living quarters.

I would highly recommend that you either return them to the store you bought them from, find them a new home, or buy them a MUCH larger tank.

As a general rule room temp. approx. 68 degrees is fine, temp is not as critical as flucuating temps moving in either direction by more than five degrees back and forth.I thnk you van safely put a Silver Dollar in that aquarium, but when the the Oscar starts growing he will need larger quarters.

A Betta can do effective surprisingly plenty everywhere. they are able to stay in a tiny bowl, they are able to stay in an aquarium without or with different fish ... they are able to do nicely at tropical temperatures, or at room temperature. The tank you have now's sufficient, yet he would be greater energetic in case you provide him extra area. in case you place up an aquarium purely for him, you do no longer would desire to warmth it, yet you will choose a clear out (and that they LOVE those bubbler-issues!) ... utilising bottled (distilled) water is maximum suitable for him via fact the typical faucet-water consists of chlorine which could kill fish. in case you go with to place your Betta in an area aquarium with tropical (heat-water) fish, he would desire to be effective in there, too ... basically steer away from having fish like tetras or barbs (fin-nippers!). The Betta will probable patrol the suitable of the aquarium and declare it as his own (and the different fish won't argue with him, the two!), so in case you go with fish that desire the middle and backside components of the aquarium, you will desire to be effective. i'd steer away from algae-eaters, however ... those adult adult males choose to combat! The little Corydoras catfish would be super to maintain with your Betta ... they're non violent and stay at the same time in communities (colleges) and usually dangle out on the backside. i've got stored tropicals and Bettas on and rancid for over two decades. i've got continually had surprisingly solid good fortune with the Bettas ... appropriate now, there is one in a 2-gallon bowl on my kitchen counter ... i've got had him some years. All i actually do is feed him some situations a week and alter the water while it desires it ... that's it!

Anywhere from 72 - 80. Most fishkeepers do a "middle-of-the-road" around 75-78o. See fish profiles: http://www.fishlore.com/
