I'm traveling to Italy in 5 weeks, during spring break, and I was just reading in my travel book, and it says to beware young italian men who cat call and do stuff. you apparently just have to ignore... but is this really true?

sure only women that come from caucasian mountain range in ex sovietic union countries of georgia and armenia (caucaso is a region of central asia not a race, you in america have got strange stereotyped distortion of reality)

i'm italian and i think that your travel book was written by a dumb mad person

look that italians know civilazation from thousands years, we are not barbarous people, who harass unknown girls along streets

You'll get alot of "Ciao Bella", and that sort of thing, its not really anything to worry about though, just walk by. My friend and I actually had a group of guys follow us out of the metro once when we were in Rome, we ignored them and they went away. Its mostly harmless and very easy to tune out.

They appreciate women so they call "ciao bella" almost to every woman, so dont worry, just say "grazie" or ignore them if you want to, but mostly they look so good that its kind of a good think listening to them.

You should be careful anywhere you go, especially if you
are traveling alone. If you're going alone you should have
taken me along to protect you.
