Kobe bryant is 1 of the youngest players 2 be selected in 2 the all-star game.Kobe is the youngest to be selected to all first team nba and all defensive first team. Kobe over the last 5 years is averaging in the range of 30pts a game, 5.5 rebounds a game,5 assits a game,1.7 steals a game and 1 block a game. Not only is kobe a supreme offensive talent, unlike other star guards in the league such as lebron, melo, arenas, nash,,wade, iverson, mcgrady, francis, marbary, kobe actually plays defense, first team nba defense at that.Without kobe L.A. is a JV team.People say kobe couldnt win a ring without shaq, when actually shaq couldnt win a ring without kobe.Shaq got lucky, hop to another team where they had a star guard and had to get all these other player to hide shaqs inability to perform consistently. People say he is a ball hog, which is definetly not true. Over his career kobe is averaging about 5 assits a game, considering he is a shooting guard and not a point guard thats pretty good.Kobe=MVP

I think people hate Kobe for one or more of the following reasons:

1. They feel he was the reason that Shaq left the Lakers. Shaq didn't like Kobe. Phil Jackson didn't like Kobe. They got their butts kicked by Detroit so everyone said time to move on and it's Kobe's fault.

2. He's a ball hog (which people said about Jordan to till he won a championship). Don't need to explain this reason it's self explanatory.

3. He doesn't seem like a friendly/nice guy off the court. It's ok to be ruthless, cold blooded, all those things on the court. Off the court a guy like Magic Johnson or Michael Jordan (I read somewhere that a former teammate of Jordan said that even Michael would show up for stuff like bowling night or friendly card games) smiling it up and joking is more fan friendly than someone like Kobe who seems complicated, emotionless, and aloft. The same goes for Tim Duncan by the way. He's a great player, great stats, great career but people don't like him like they favor a Dirk Nowitzki or Lebron James.

4. It doesn't seem like people can relate to him. You got guys like Ben Wallace who is a tough guy that does the dirty work that blue collar workers can relate to. You got guys like Michael Jordan who had the desire to be the best which is something most of us strive for. Even a guy like Charles Barkley people like because he says what he wants to say even if people don't agree with it.

5. That thing he did in Colorado.

People misunderstand Kobe and the way Shaq left didn't give Kobe viable options.

1. Kobe scores on his own because he has to. His team is full of young players, aside from Lamar Odom. His teammates are almost invisible every game. Every coach wants a play to run through Kobe because he can make tough shots even if the play fails. The Lakers were built around Shaq. When he left, Kobe had to take the scoring load, while the team readjusted. Just imagine the situation with Kevin Garnett and the Twolves. At least Kobe has the patience and integrity to have a positive attitude at work.

2. Kobe is the captain of his team and his team is very young. His leadership qualities mirror that of Phil Jackson and Don Nelson. They do not appear friendly, but that is not their job. Their purpose is to demand respect from their peers and commit to discipline. Jackson and Nelson will occasionally cycle through their line up so they can reward excellent players with playing time. Kobe as a captain also demands respect from his teammates and now under the coaching of Jackson, his teammates are now good enough to run with Kobe.

On or off the court, Kobe is misjudged and misinterpreted. If you take a look at the league, Kobe is probably the last talented, pure, and physically gifted basketball player. Others are good at what they do, but none have mastered the game like Kobe. The only existing NBA player even remotely similar to Kobe is Ray Allen. In the end, Kobe is just doing what he is being paid for, his job, and he doesn't need to know whether you like it or not.

to answer your question about Kobe afer Shaq-less Lakers, Shaq has a ring w/o Kobe, and Kobe doesn't w'o Shaq. Another thing, if it wasn't for Phil Jackson( who I also can't stand) the Lakers wouldn't even be where they are now. Didn't even make the playoffs a couple of seasons ago, remember? Basketball is a team game, Kobe ain't a team. Talented, yes, but when the team's not winning, whacha gonna do? maybe watch the Mavericks at the top of the league, .... just a suggestion! DIRK FOR MVP!!!!!

people are Kobe haters because he is too good. When a guy like type plays against your team and embarasses all the players on your team thats not fun. People can call him cocky but he has the stats to back it up plus he never gets the credit he deserves. Kobe can take over the game whenever he wants. When he gets serious, then you have a problem especially in the fourth, this guy does not miss and can give it to any player. Kobe is one of the few players take can make an all star look like a rookie. This guy Kobe has a nice range and he has nice 3 point jumper, and his dunks are incredible. Thats why people hate on him because they wish they had a player like that on their team. So they say his too greedy off course he is because no one steps up when given the chance but Kobe.

Simply Because Kobe doesn't pass the ball. He might drop 81 points, but he only averages like 3 assists a game. An MVP normally makes people around him better, and Kobe doesn't. Thats why Nash is on his way to win a 3rd straight MVP title. He can score, take over a game, pass, play defence, AND makes everyone around him a better basketball player. He is one of the most complete basketball players in the NBA.

well you pretty much laid it all down my friend. you get major props from me... high five!! nobody can argue against your argument when it comes to his career. if they do, it's only because they're jealous. all i hear from these people is the same damn thing... "kobe sucks", "he doesnt know how to pass the ball", "he's a ballhog", "he's not a team player"... and yet they cant seem to prove what they're saying, especially during this season. the only thing they have against kobe is the fact that he was caught up in some major legal issues and his bad reputation of the past. its obvious that they dont see what kind of player he is now. if he wasnt so good why are people yelling mvp for him then right?! *sigh* this is a great question though because i'd like to see what those haters have to say about this as well. kb24 for mvp!!!!

Ball Hog, clearly, Look at his assist each game, very, very low!

He is arrogant, and all of the players around the league can't stand him.

Look at that cheap shot he took at Genoboli from San Antonio!

Kobe is NOT a Team player!

Phil Jackson has to go too!

what's your important account? circulate connect the infantile morons like the "?/Matt" baby who thinks grievance is "hate". that is nicely known that Kobe has a tendency to quit the ball and not get teammates in touch. Even Phil Jackson use to criticize him for this. He has the final frontcourt interior the NBA. Use them! _______ @ Matt: on the top of the day, you're in basic terms a intercourse starved, a hundred and forty pound keyboard warrior, who has no existence exterior of the cyber web, and feels the would desire to act hard over a keyboard simply by fact your pencil necked, scrawny @ss can no longer do something in genuine existence. I dont like Kobe because he is arrogant and plays for fame not glory. He ripped on Gilbert Arenas after gil had that great 60 point game. Arenas was a huge Bryant fan before this, no class on Kobe's part.

Just an intersting tid bit:

Kobe Bryants 81 point game came in his 666th career game. Creepy huh? Look it up

You know, Kobe haters are jealous of Kobe. Its because they cant play like him. You're right, Kobe is a SG. You cant expect Kobe to be a passer, he's not paid to do that. he's paid to shoot and provide for his team. If Kobe's a PG, then be angry because he's a ballhog. And if they say that Kobe's arrogant, let him be. He'll learn from all his mistakes. As if his detractors aren't being arrogant by what they're saying of him. He did some mistakes in his life, but hey no one's perfect. As if those people who hate Kobe are angels, and did not do anything that may hurt or harm other people.

My advice to those Kobe haters, stop being one!!! You're not perfect, dont pour your frustrations on someone who does not even know you.
