When the subject of sports is brought up by any guy I am talking to, I always have to excuse myself by saying "I don't follow sports." I am not dating--I just want to be a sociable acquaintance or colleague! How do you carry out general conversations with guys without being a sports buff?

I actually know quite a lot about several sports (baseball, football, basketball, golf, tennis, automobile racing, etc.), and I must confess that I have never met any men who were truly impressed by my ability to discuss sports with them! In fact, when men are avid sports' fanatics, they are going to be in possession of minutiae in regard to their interests while my knowledge is general. Actually, if a guy is really attracted to you, he is not going to care whether you can discuss sports with him, and if you do become involved with a sports' lover, very possibly he will be delighted to teach you...

Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! STERIOTYPES!!!! Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!! I don't follow sports and I'm a guy and you would be surprised how many guys there are like that. Anyway, if you do come across a guy that talks about sports all the time just tell them that you don't follow sports because you will just look stupid otherwise.
