Because other days are other day like Mondays are Monday.
Some places you will find Saturdays off day even Fridays in Muslim Countries are holidays.
Those days are gone when only Sundays were holidays in Railway any day could be your holiday depend upon availability of time.

Isn't the seventh day Saturday? Well, whichever is the seventh day, God and all his followers(I think) rested on that day.
And here in Malaysia, it rains and doesn't rain everyday. So I think that's why Sunday is called SUN-day.

Because on the 7th day, God rested. We took our lead from Him.
