how are submarines safe (im terrified that i will die if i ride one)?

in a couple of week im going on one of those and i AM FREAKED that its gonna crash or a whale will eat it or we will down please tell me something helpful?

They are meticulously built, inspected, and cared for. The crews who operate them are hand picked and skilled. You're not getting mediocre people running it.

Rarely do you hear of a submarine disaster, and usually there are extreme circumstances why such an incident occurred. The vessels don't just tread out into the ocean and begin sinking.
