It's human nature to be self-centered. It was necessary for survival. I'm not saying this is an excuse, but it explains it.

Because that's what all people should do. Care first and most about themselves. If people don't act in their best interest then civilization will disappear. Honesty and sincerity are the basis of a good society and a virtuous person. To say that you care about someone else more is a hypocritical lie because it's impossible. You can't help others if you can't help yourself. Someone said: Love your neighbor like you love yourself. Not more!. Because you are the best you. The one and only you. The one that knows how to care about you best. And if you are good then perhaps you'll be able to help others too.

Some people believe they're better then everyone else, or that whats going on isnt important. Some people are conceited, and think the world revolves around them. Alot of people are self centered and dont care about anyone else.

Not saying its right, but most of us like to be in control. Let's face it, rarely can we control another person and their circumstances so we tend to ignore others or at least attempt to do so.
We don't like it when we can't fix things.
Speaking for myself, it may seem as if I don't care about others; not true at all! More often than not I can see their pain and sometimes even feel it but too afraid to get involved.
Not proud of myself either. I hate my self when I behave in such a manner.

It comes out of our natural state of existence. Self preservation and propagation are the motivating force of our existence. All things run around these two aspects.Only a few people like mother Teresa come out of this circle to show concern towards others around them, they are considered grate.

They are self-centered.
But, there are the people who have their own extreme problems in their lives that they need to take care of before other stuff...

Coz nowadays people are more self centred and they are only concerned what happened to them and not what had happened to the others.

Maybe they're just to busy taking care of their own lives and their own business to get very much involved in anything else.
