Stopping the Americans would be bad IMO becuase they are allies of Egypt and to allow terrorist to gain a foot hold there would allow them to threaten Europe with actually millitary action instead of terrorist attacks which are done because they lack military power

Which country are you reasoning from, if the Americans are stopped the only country to worry will be Israel as the flow or super weapons will dry up and the Arab world will then have numbers on their side. As far as Western Europe is concerned the present quo will stay as the status for many years.
