Because people are smarter than they used to be. Some people at any rate.

Because society is becoming more and more open to diversity. More and more people are coming out and thus homosexuality is becoming more common. As for two dads or moms, isn't that a lot better then having no parents at all? So you think it's disgusting, so what. Should we ban anything that people might not agree with at all? In that case, we'll be in an age that only white rich Christian men (and anything else "normal", despite being rich being rare) who follow only one lifestyle should be allowed any rights and everyone else are considered subhumans with no rights.
As for talking about homosexuality around here, what do you want people to talk about in this section, cars?

Why do you think it's disgusting?
I just want you to think about it for a minute. Most children living with two dads or two moms have no problem with it until OTHER people come into their lives and tell them it's wrong, tease them for it, or otherwise make their lives a miserable hell.
Used to be time ago that kids living with parents of different races went through the same or worse; I for one am absolutely estatic that interracial marriages have become accepted. Since I don't see anything wrong with being homosexual, I am only happy that homosexuality is finally starting to be accepted, too.

It isn't necessarily that the sexual orientation is being accepted more than before, but rather, the PEOPLE that come out and say they are homosexual are being accepted more than before. It is easier to hate the idea of a certain sexual orientation than an actual person you have had a relationship with that decides to share this information with you.
These days people feel more comfortable declaring a sexual orientation toward others of their own gender and heterosexual friends/family are forced to decide whether to accept them or reject them. If you disagree with somebody, do you have to reject them and your relationship with them?
Ask an orphan if they mind having 2 dads or 2 moms....its 2 more parents than they currently have! A parent's love is extremely important to a child (I see evidence of this in my 3 year old son every day) and it seems you are taking it for granted.

Well, you're entitled to your opinion. I really don't think homosexuality is becoming accepted, judging from the questions on here. Society may be a little more liberal than it was a generation ago, but there's still a ton of prejudice that needs to be overcome before homosexuality is accepted. It's unusual, yes, to have parents of the same sex, but I don't consider it disgusting. From what I've heard, same-sex parents take as good as, or even better care of their kids than heterosexual parents. And there's a lot less cheating, promiscuity, child and spousal abuse, drug and alcohol addiction -- the list goes on -- than there is among straight couples. I have thought about it deeply, and what's disgusting to me is the attitudes people have toward homosexuals, people of other races and religions, and yes, even handicapped people. We are all the same in the eyes of God. Think about that for a minute.

From what I can tell, much has to do with the excessive ignorance and hate-crimes of the past re:homosexuals. Now, that we know they are no different than everyone else, aside from certain preferences, which should NOT be factors in judging character, ability, etc...it seems as though 'all things gay' have become the opposite side of the extreme and now are everpresent, all the time.
Many of them were ostracized by their families, rejected by the church and pushed INTO the closet by society SO many gays are very open, loving and into good parenting due to the lack of it in their lives. It may seem strange, but they do really well as foster parents to kids that no one else seems to want...and that is more noble a mission than most missionaries set out to accomplish.

OK first of all, like in the last question I answered, what is disgusting and offensive are closed minded people like you in our world. I have a niece who's best friend is gay. I like him and his boyfriend. I also have a friend who's mother is a lesbian. I absolutely adore her mom and her girlfriend. These two couples are healthy, sound minded, energetic, and happy people. Why would it matter to a child WHAT their parents are as to WHO their parents are? What is the difference to having two parents of the same sex? Again as I said in my last answer, there are an awful lot of hetero parents who have abused, abandoned and have even gone as far as to murder their own children for selfish needs (ie, Susan Smith, Andrea Yates, Diane Downs...just a select few!!!). Why should their children have suffered? Am I saying Gay couples wouldn't harm their kids, no, BUT, I am going to defend their rights to marriage and having children. Children need love, nourishment, financial and mental stability...no matter where it comes from. And having two people who love, support and respect each other fulfills that...no matter what sexual orientations it may be. As long as they grow up in a loving environment...what does it matter. Only bigots believe their way is the only way. If that were true, then why do we live in the kind of world we live in today. We need to leave people as a whole alone. As long as people are law abiding and respectful to their neighbor...what does it matter how and who we love...just as long as we love!!!! Oh I do have a question for you...if you find gays and lesbians so disgusting...why are you looking crap up in this section? Maybe you could be harboring....hmmmm... some tendencies I suspect? Kinda stinks to have someone fling mud back at ya doesn't it!

It'd be great living with two moms or two dads. I wouldn't mind at all, because the child would most likely grow up being used to it and accepting it. I have thought about it deeply. Homosexuality is being accepted so much because people aren't as rude and they actually have open minds. Think about it deeply for a second.
If you don't like it, don't do it. It's as simple as that, it doesn't concern you, does it?

well because most people, except, perhaps, yourself...are a lot smarter and open-minded than they used to be. considering most of us were raised by straight parents, I wouldn't have minded having gay parents myself. you do know that gay parents don't "teach" children how to be gay? my straight parents didn't "teach" me to be gay, either. It's not something taught, learned or chosen...it's genetic. I have many gay/lesbian friends who have happy, healthy, well-adjusted, biological children. and I've also met a lot of straight people who have no business being parents. a safe, loving home is what a child needs...it doesn't matter the gender of the parents.
you think homosexuality is disgusting? people talk about homosexuality in this section? hey, Einstein, did you notice this is the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered forum? Did you not read that or not know what that means? why would you then be surprised about what is discussed here? don't like us? stay out of OUR forum!
