I want to know if any other girls have birth defects that inhibit the growth of 1 breast? (The other has grown normally, resulting in humiliation.) Be nice to know I'm not alone!

This isn't the normal breast different size thing. I was born without a major pectoral muscle, two and a half ribs, a third of my lung, etc. One breast is completely flat, no growth whatsoever, and the other is a C.

I would appreciate it if no guys would answer it is rude.

I don't know if my problem is actually a 'birth defect' or just a severe difference, but one of my breasts is about 2 sizes larger than the other. I've always been that way, but it didn't really get noticeable until I was in my 30's and began to put on weight. I'm 47 now, and most of my life I only weighed about 110 lbs, so it wasn't very noticeable in my clothes since all of me was small. Now, at 168 lbs if I'm not wearing a bra it's very noticeable. It can be humiliating, especially since we live in a society that puts so much emphasis on T&A and bodily perfection. Your only options physically are to look into plastic surgery, or to see about getting the bras they make for women who've had mastectomies, bras that can make both breasts look the same size. Emotionally though, you've got to work on your self-esteem. I learned the hard way that I could not let other people's cruel, heartless, and sometimes unthinking remarks determine how I looked at myself. Despite my small and unequally sized breasts, I am a beautiful and desirable woman, and you need to always remember that you are too. You are not alone.

I never had this problem--however my cousin did--she was also born w/o a lining to her throat.

One of her breasts was an A, the other a D.
She had the D breast reduced and the A breast increased (via surgery) so that both were the same size.

She is happy now.

I am sorry for you--hopefully, you will be able to get this medically corrected sometime soon.

On another note, most girls' breasts are not the same size.

Sorry, I'm a guy. I like to think a fairly informed and compassionate one. You are not alone. I personally know a gal with a similar situation. Without going into specifics, I assure you that some men would and do find this uniqueness, for various reasons, pleasing and even exciting. Go inside yourself for comfort, wear a prosthesis if it makes you feel more presentable. Your friends likely notice it a lot less than you do and if not, so what. Vanity is a flaw that tries to steal your happiness. Don't let it. peace

It is perfectly normal to have breasts that are differently sized. Happened to me too.

For now you can always use inserts for the smaller side, then when your breasts are done growing you can either get an implant in one, or a reduction in the other if the size difference is a PITA for you.

Look on google and search for plastic surgery sites on breast augmentation. I have looked before and seen examples of one breast one size and another breast several sizes larger. You are not alone.

it's quite normal. Most women have one breast larger than the other, however it most it isn't easily noticed. Have you consulted with your doctor?
